Ibn al Qayyim al Jawziyyah’s al Fawaaid (p. 111-112) “The slave is not afflicted with a punishment greater in severity then the hardening of the heart and being distant from Allah. For the Fire was created to melt the hardened heart. The most distant heart from Allah is the heart which is hardened. If the heart becomes hardened, the eye becomes dry. If four matters are exceeded in quantity, beyond what is necessary, the heart shall become hardened: Food, sleep, speech and sexual intercourse. A body afflicted by disease does not derive nourishment from food or water, similarly a heart diseased by desire does not benefit from admonishment and exhortation. Whosoever desires to purify his heart, then let him prefer Allah to his desires. The heart which is clinging to its desires is veiled from Allah, commensurate to the degree that it is attached to them, the hearts are the vessels of Allah upon his earth, hence the most beloved of them to him, are the ones most compassionate, pure and resistant to deviation. They (the transgressors) preoccupied their hearts [in the pursuance] of the Dunya, would that they preoccupied them with Allah and the hereafter, then surely they would have reflected upon the intended meaning of his poignant words and verses. Their hearts would have returned to their masters with wisdom, marvelously curious and [in possession] of the rarest of precious gems. If the heart is nourished with remembrance, its thirst quenched with contemplation and cleansed from corruption, it shall witness remarkable and wondrous matters, inspiring wisdom. Not every individual who is endowed with knowledge and wisdom, and assumes its character is from amongst its people. Rather the people of knowledge and wisdom are those who infused life into their hearts by slaying their desires. As for the one who slays his heart and vitalized his desires, then knowledge and wisdom is naked upon his tongue. The destruction of the heart occurs by security [in this Dunya] and negligence, its fortification occurs by fear and remembrance. If the heart renounces the pleasures of the Dunya, it settles upon the [pursuance of] pleasures of the Hereafter, and amongst those who call towards it. Should the heart become content with the pleasures of the Dunya, those pleasures [of the hereafter] cease [to continue]. Yearning for Allah and his meeting is like the gentle breeze blowing upon the heart, extinguishing the blaze of the Dunya. Whosoever caused his heart to settle with his Lord shall be in a state, clam and tranquil, and whosoever sent it amongst the people shall be disturbed and excessively perturbed. For the love of Allah shall not enter a heart, which contains the love of this world, except as a camel, which passes through the eye of a needle. Hence, the most beloved servant before Allah is the one whom He places in His servitude, whom He selects for His love, whom He causes to purify his worship for Him, dedicates his objectives for Him, his tongue for His remembrance, and his limbs for His service. The heart becomes sick, as the body becomes sick, and its remedy is al-Tawbah and protection [from transgression]. It becomes rusty as a mirror becomes rusty, and its clarity is obtained by remembrance. It becomes naked as the body becomes naked, and its beautification is at-Taqwa. It becomes hungry and thirsty as the body becomes hungry and thirsty, and its food and drink are knowledge, love, dependence, repentance and servitude.”

| Evolution Darwinian theory The first question of Fatwa no. 2872 Q 1: We studied something about the theory of Evolution and all that relates to creation as this forms a part of our educational curriculum. The more I read on this subject, the more I become convinced that Allah is the Only One Who created this universe and all that it contains. Nevertheless, I was greatly astonished to come across a book written by a Muslim author approving the theory of Evolution and supporting it by the Qur'an! Moreover, one of my Muslim teachers asked me: "Since Islam forbids a man to marry to his sister; how could brothers and sisters amongst the offspring of Adam and Eve get married to each other? A: The theory of Evolution which is renowned as the theory of Darwin contradicts the Qur'an, Sunnah (whatever is reported from the Prophet), and Ijma` (consensus of scholars). There are thus proofs from the Qur'an and authentic Sunnah stating that Allah (Exalted be He) created Adam from soil then created Eve from Adam. Regarding the fact that Adam (peace be upon him) married his sons to his daughters, this is something that he did according to the law that Allah commanded him to follow which we do not have any right to argue about. Anyway, as far as the Shari`ah (Islamic law) that was sent to Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) is concerned; Allah makes it Haram (prohibited) for a man to marry his sister along with other well-established categories of women that a man is not allowed to marry. Besides, since Allah

| (Glorified and Exalted be He) says, To each among you, We have prescribed a law and a clear way. While mentioning the laws of Tawrah (Torah), Injil (Gospel), and Qur'an; the same applies to Adam (peace be upon him) i.e. he had a specific law that he followed.May Allah grant us success. a nice sister who wanted to remain unknown - so i am going to call her the 'nice unknown sister' - has shared two 'Umar Quinn audios with me. jazak Allaahu khayran 'nice unknown sister'!
here is one of the audios which is called:
this is indeed another 'must listen' audio from our noble brother 'Umar Quinn.
'Umar is talking about those who are:
- jumu'ah muslims. - those who have not accepted Islaam wholeheartedly. - those who do not have any understanding of the Deen. - those who are selling drugs and indulge in the likes of these sins.

Bismillaah Al-Hamdulillaah wa salatu wa salaamu 'ala rasulullaah Amma-ba'd ________________________________________________________________ ________________________________________________________________
Excerpt: [Abu Yusuf Khaleefah relayed from Shaikh 'Abdus-Salaam As-Suhaimy (hafidhahullaah Ta'aala):] Ahlus-Sunnah are the best group of this Ummah. They are the most balanced of the groups, for they are At-Ta`ifatul Mansurah (The Aided and Victorious Group) and Al-Firqatun-Najiyah (The Saved Sect). He then mentioned Ibn Taymiyyah's statement: Ahlus-Sunnah Wasaatun (is the balanced group) among the different groups just as Islaam is the balanced religion among all the different religions. When you look at Islaam, Christianity and Judaism. The Christians have with them extremism. The Jews have with them negligence. This is why we say: اهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيمَ Guide us to the Straight Way. The Way of those on whom You have bestowed Your Grace , not (the way) of those who earned Your Anger (such as the Jews), nor of those who went astray (such as the Christians). (Al-Fatihah, ayah 7) The Messenger of Allaah (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) told the sahabah: Maghub 'alaihim hum al Yahood, (those who earned [Allaah's] Anger are the Jews). Wa Daloon hum an-Nasarah, (those who went astray are the Christians). The scholars explained why. Allaah's anger is upon the Jews because they have knowledge but they don't practice, which is negligence. The Christians are described as being astray because they have practice without knowledge. This is extremism - although both groups have with them negligence and extremism. Except that the Yahood (Jews) moreso have the characteristic of negligence than the Nasaarah (Christians), and the Nasaarah moreso have the characteristic of extremism than the Yahood. But they both have both characteristics. So now between these two religions - Christianity and Judaism - Islaam is in the middle. We're not extreme and we're not negligent. Why? 'Ilm ----> Beneficial Knowledge 'Amal -------> Legislated Actions 'Adl -------> Justice 'Aql -------> Intellect* Now, when you look at Ahlus-Sunnah between the methodology of Ahlul-Kalaam (People of theological rhetoric) and the methodology of Ahlul-Tasawuf (Soofees). Ahlul-Kalaam - People of theological rhetoric - they have knowledge but no practice, and they are corrupt in their knowledge. Like the Jews. Ahlul-Tasawuf - the Soofees - have a lot of practices, a lot of striving, however it's not based upon 'ilm (authentic knowledge). Ahlus-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah are right in the middle between the negligence of Ahlul-Kalaam and the extremism of Ahlul-Tasawuf. And when Shaikhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah Ta'aala) mentioned that point, he mentioned the statement of Allaah, Subhanahu wa Ta'aala: مَا كَانَ إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَهُودِيّا ً وَلاَ نَصْرَانِيّا ً وَلَكِنْ كَانَ حَنِيفا ً مُسْلِما ً وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ Ibraahim (Abraham) was neither a Jew nor a Christian, but he was a true Muslim Hanifa, and he was not of the polytheists. (Aali 'Imran, ayah 67) Shaikhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah (rahimahullaah Ta'aala) said: In this verse, there is a proof that the Prophet (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) and the sahaaba (radiallaahu 'anhum) were prohibited from being from the people of innovation (bid'ah), because Allaah commanded Prophet Muhammad (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) to follow Ibraaheem, as Allaah mentioned: مَّ أَوْحَيْنَا إِلَيْكَ أَنِ اتَّبِعْ مِلَّةَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ حَنِيفا ً وَمَا كَانَ مِنَ الْمُشْرِكِينَ Then, We have inspired you (O Muhammad, saying): "Follow the religion of Ibraaheem (Abraham) Hanifa and he was not of the polytheists." (An-Nahl, ayah 123) So Allaah commanded Prophet Muhammad (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) to follow Ibraaheem ('alayhi salaam). Ibraaheem was neither a Jew nor a Christian. So that means Prophet Muhammad (salallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam) could not be a Jew nor a Christian, nor can he be like those who resemble the Jews or the Christians. So Shaikhul-Islaam Ibn Taymiyyah said: Every group of deviance, you will find that they either resemble the Jews or the Christians...** Notes: * Earlier in the lesson, Abu Yusuf had mentioned the scholars' statement "Islaam is based upon the four 'Aiyns" (since each word begins with the letter -----> عَ ) [what follows are the words and a summary] Al-'Ilm ----> Beneficial Knowledge (knowledge of the revelation - Qur`an and Sunnah - and that which the sahaaba were upon) Al-'Amal -------> Actions (implementation of that knowledge) Al-'Adl -------> Justice (all the rules and regulations of Islaam are just; there is no oppression in the Deen of al-Islaam; it's possible that a Muslim may fall into injustice, but this is a reflection of him and Not the religion, for Allaah said in a hadeeth Qudsee: Oh my servants. I have made oppression forbidden upon Myself, and I have made it forbidden upon you. Don't oppress one another) Al-'Aql -------> Sound Intellect (a person whose fitrah has not been corrupted - and whose intellect has not been corrupted - will recognize the truth and benefit of Islaam; there is nothing from Islaam that opposes sound intellect)
Allaamah Ibn al-Qayyim (d. 751H) said: "And it is correct that judging by other than what Allaah has revealed is both types of kufr (disbelief) - kufr asghar (the minor disbelief) and kufr akbar (the major disbelief) - and [which of the two it is] depends on the condition of the ruler. If he believes in the obligation of judging by what Allaah has revealed in this situation but turned away from it - out of disobedience - and while acknowledging that he is deserving of punishment then this is kufr asghar. And if he believes that it is not obligatory and that he has a choice in the matter - along with his firm belief that it is the judgement of Allaah - then this is kufr akbar - and if was ignorant in the matter or made an error then he is one who errs (mukhtee’) and his ruling is as the same for those who err. [Madaarij us-Saalikeen 1/337]
Shaikh Abdur-Rahmaan as-Sa’dee (d. 1376H) said: "Judging by other than what Allaah has revealed is among the actions of the People of Disbelief - and it can also take one outside of the religion. And that is when he believes in its legality and its permissibility. And it can sometimes be one of the major sins and from the actions of disbelief - the one who is guilty of it will receive a heavy punishment - and He said: "And whoever does not judge by what Allaah has revealed, then they are the wrongdoers (dhaalimoon)." Ibn Abbaas said: "Kufr less than kufr and dhulm less than dhulm and fisq less than fisq. It is dhulm akbar when it is declared permissible but it is a great sin when it is done without declaring it permissible." [Tayseer al-Kareem ar-Rahmaan 2/296-297]
Imaam Ibn al-Jawzee (d. 596H) said: "And the decisive speech in this regard is that whoever does not judge by what Allaah has revealed - while rejecting it [in belief] {jahahda) and he knows that it is Allaah who revealed it - as the Jews did - then he is a disbeliever. And whoever does not judge by what Allaah has revealed - inclining to his desires without rejecting it [in belief] then he is a dhaalim, faasiq and it has been reported from Alee bin Abu Talhah from Ibn Abbaas that he said: "Whoever rejects (jahada) what Allaah has revealed then he has disbelieved, and whoever affirms it (aqarra bihi) but does not judge by it - then he is a dhaalim, a faasiq." [Zaad al-Maysir 2/366]
Shaikh Muhammad Ameen ash-Shanqeetee (d. 1393H) said: "Know that the liberating stance in this topic is that kufr, dhulm and fisq, all of them can be used in the legislation with the intent of ‘disobedience’ at one time and with the intent of ‘kufr that ejects from the religion another time’. And whoever does not judge by what Allaah has revealed, turning away and contradicting the Messenger (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) and nullifying the rulings (ahkaam) of Allaah, then his dhulm, fisq, and kufr - all of them are disbelief that eject from the religion. And whoever does not judge by what Allaah has revealed, whilst believing that he is committing a forbidden action and doing a reprehensible action, then his kufr, dhulm and fisq does not eject him from the religion. [Adwaa al-Bayaan 2/104]
Imaam ibn Abee Izz al-Hanafee (d. 792H) said: "And there is a matter which it is necessary to comprehend well - that ruling by other than what Allaah has revealed can sometimes be kufr that ejects from the religion and sometimes a major or minor sin - or it can be ‘metaphorical kufr’ (kufran majaaziyyan) or ‘minor kufr’ - and this is in accordance with the state of the ruler. If he believes that ruling by other than what Allaah has revealed is not waajib and that he has a choice in the matter - or if he disdains/despises it - while having conviction that it is the rule of Allaah, then this is the major kufr. And if he believes in the obligation to rule by what Allaah has revealed and in this [particular] incident [he knows it to be the rule of Allaah] but he turns away from it - whilst acknowledging that he deserves punishment then he is a disobedient person and he is termed a disbeliever with the metaphorical type of kufr or the minor type of kufr. [Sharh Aqeedat it-Tahaawiyyah p. 363]
And the Imaam and Mujaddid, Shaikh Muhammad bin Abdul Wahhaab (d. 1206H) said: "Know that those things which eject from the religion (nawaaqid) are then in number: …Whoever believes (i’taqada 0that a guidance other than that of the Prophet (sallallaahu alayhi wasallam) is more perfect or that the judgement other than his is better - such as the one who gives preference to the hukm of the tawaagheet - then such a one is a disbeliever…" [Mu’allifaat Ash-Shaikh al-Imaam Muhammad bin Abdul-Wahhaab - al-Qismul-Awwal]
Imam Abdul-Azeez bin Baaz said: "And whoever ruled by other than what Allaah has revealed then he will not be in other than one of four situations: "
1. The one who says: ‘I rule by this because it is superior to the Sharee’ah of Islaam.’ Such a one is disbeliever in the sense of the major disbelief.
2. The one who says: ‘I rule by this because it is like the Sharee’ah of Islaam, so ruling by it is permissible and ruling by the Sharee’ah is permissible’. Such a one is a disbeliever in the sense of the major disbelief.
3. The one who says: ‘I rule by this and ruling by the Sharee’ah of Islaam is superior but ruling by other than what Allaah has revealed is permissible.’ Such a one is a disbeliever in the sense of major disbelief.
4. The one who says: ‘I rule by this’ while he believes that ruling by other than what Allaah has revealed is not permissible and who says that ‘the Sharee’ah of Islaam is superior and it is not permissible to ruler by other than it’ but he is neglectful, or treats matters lightly, or does this action due to a reason which proceeds from his rulers, then he is a disbeliever in the sense of minor disbelief which does not eject from the religion - and it is considered one of the greatest of major sins." [Al-Hukmu bi-Ghairi Maa Anzalallaahu wa Usool ut-Takfeer p. 71/72]

| Fatwa no. 19010 Q: Some of those who treat people by Ruqyah (reciting Qur'an and supplications over the sick as a cure) ask the afflicted person to offer two Rak`ahs (units of Prayer) then recite specific Qur'anic Surahs or Tasbih (saying: "Subhan Allah [Glory be to Allah]") in the hope that they will see a vision identifying the persons who placed the spell on them, where they live, and how to break the spell. To what extent is this permissible? Also those who treat people by the Ruqyah ask the afflicted person to recite some Surahs (Qur'anic chapter) such as Surah Ikhlas, Al-Mu`awwidhatayn (Surahs Al-Falaq and Al-Nas) and Ayat-ul-Kursy (the Qur’anic Verse of Allah’s Chair, Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:255) a hundred times and count the times on a Misbahah (counting beads used when remembering Allah). It should be noted that some people are against this practice and say it is a Bid`ah (innovation in religion). It is also said that it is Bid`ah to recite the Qur'an on black cumin oil, honey, or milk, or to massage the body with musk or rose-water after reciting Qur'anic verses on them. It should be noted that these things have their practical effects on the Jinn; such as help in burning the Jinn, by Allah's Grace. Is this a permissible way of treatment by the Qur'an, or is the treatment by the Qur'an a Tawqifiy (bound by a religious text and not open to personal opinion) matter which requires the person to adhere to the religious texts? A: The practices mentioned in the question about those who treat people by asking them to offer two Rak`ahs (units of Prayer) then recite specific Surahs of the Qur'an and tasbih with hopes of seeing a vision about the bewitched person, and ask them to recite some Surahs a hundred times on the Misbahah etc.- all these practices are Bid`ahs which have no origin in Islam. There is no proof in the Book of Allah (the Qur'an) nor in the Sunnah of His Messenger Muhammad (peace be upon him) to support these practices. The permissible Ruqyah
| | (Part No. 1; Page No. 97) |
| has some conditions such as: A Ruqyah should include either the Words of Allah, His Names or Attributes. It is permissible to seek treatment through the Qur'an and through the Sunnah, as the Messenger did when reciting Ruqyah on himself or his Sahabah (Companions). It is also permissible to use (as a Ruqyah) the blessed invocations that include nothing against the sacred Shari`ah. Another condition for Ruqyah is that it be recited in Arabic or whatever gives its meaning. Another condition is for both the person who recites the Ruqyah and the person on whom it is recited, to believe that the Ruqyah itself or the person reciting it himself does not have any special effect. In fact both of them should believe the effect is up to Allah's Will and that the person who treats by Ruqyah is a mere instrument. It is Allah Who creates the reasons and their effects. It is permissible also to recite the Qur'an or Prophetic invocations on one's hands then rub them against the body as it is authentically reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) did so when reciting Ruqyah on himself and on some of his Sahabah. As regards writing Qur'anic verses with rose-water or saffron on a piece of paper then soaking it in water then drinking this water and reciting on honey, milk or the like or rubbing the body with musk and rose-water on which Qur'anic verses have been recited, there is no harm in this. The Salaf (righteous predecessors) used to do this.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions. In the Name of Allaah, the Most Merciful… Allaah, the Most High says, what means: ( He is the One who created you (all) from a single soul, and from it He created its mate, so he could dwell with her (harmoniously). When he (Adam) covered her (Eve, in intimacy), she became pregnant, a light pregnancy (not difficult) that she went through. When she got heavier, they called upon Allaah, their Lord, ‘If you give us a sound child we would surely be of the thankful. And when He gave them sound offspring, they set up partners unto Him regarding what He had given them. Exonerated is Allaah above the partners they ascribe to Him! ) [Soorah al-A'raaf, 7:189-190] This Qur’aanic passage may seem to indicate that it was Adam and Eve that committed the act of shirk (setting up partners unto Allaah), especially when one reads the following report, with many similar wordings and meanings, which has been reported in the books of Tafseer: When Hawwaa’ (Adam’s wife, Eve) became pregnant, Iblees came to her, after she had not had any offspring that had lived, saying: Name him Abdul-Haarith! So she named him Abdul-Haarith and he lived. And that is a kind of revelation (of misguidance) from Shaytaan and how he orders the people (with misguidance). Other narrations mention that he threatened them, saying that he would make the baby deformed. The great scholar of Hadeeth, Shaykh Muhammad Naasir ad-Deen al-Albaanee – may Allaah have Mercy on him – said: Dha’eef (unauthentic) – It was collected by at-Tirmithee (2/181, Boolaaq), al-Haakim (2/545), Ibn Bashraan in his Sittings of Dictation (158-2), Ahmad (5/11), and others, from the report of ‘Umar ibn Ibraaheem, reporting from Qataadah, reporting from Al-Hasan (al-Basree), on the authority of Samurah ibn Jundub, as a Prophetic hadeeth. At-Tirmithee said, “A hasan (acceptable) but strange hadeeth, we only know of it from the report of ‘Umar ibn Ibraaheem narrating from Qataadah.” Al-Haakim said, “Its chain is authentic,” and ath-Thahabee agreed. I say (Al-Albaanee): It is not as they have said, since there is a well-known dispute over whether Al-Hasan really heard from Samurah or not, while he (al-Hasan) is mudallis (often narrates from an unmentioned middle-man), and he has not stated clearly that he heard this from Samurah directly. Ath-Thahabee said in his biography in al-Meezaan: Al-Hasan used to practice tadlees a lot (i.e. he used to narrated from an unnamed middle-man), so if he says in his narration, ‘On the authority of So-and-So,’ then it is dha’eef (weak) to use that report as a proof. I say (Al-Albaanee): Ibn ‘Adiyy has exposed another defect in al-Kaamil (3/1701), which is the lone narration of ‘Umar ibn Ibraaheem, saying: “His narrations from Qataadah are confused, while he should still have his narrations written down, even with his lack of precision.” Another thing that shows the lack of authenticity of this report that has been used to explain the Statement of His, the Most High (what means): ( And when He gave them sound offspring, they set up partners unto Him regarding what He gave them… ) [7:190] is that Al-Hasan himself explained the Verse with a different meaning than what is in this hadeeth of his. Had he considered it authentic as a Prophetic hadeeth, he would not have turned away from its meaning. He said in his own explanation of it (the Verse), “This is regarding some of the people of the previous religions, and it is not referring to Adam.” Ibn Katheer mentioned this, with different chains of transmission to him (al-Hasan), and then said, “And these chains are authentic to Al-Hasan, (proving) that this was his explanation, and it is from the best of all explanations and the most befitting to be used to understand the Verse.” Review the rest of his words, as they are priceless. Similar is mentioned in At-Tibyaan fee Aqsaam al-Qur’aan (p.264) of Ibn al-Qayym. [1] [End of the words of Shaykh Al-Albaanee] Our shaykh, the Faqeeh, Muhammad ibn Saalih al-’Uthaymeen – may Allaah have mercy on him – said: This story is falsehood from a number of angles: [1] There is no authentic narration from the Prophet (may Allaah raise his rank and grant him peace) to support it, and these kinds of reports are only acceptable when based on revelation. Ibn Hazm said about this story, “This is a fabricated lie of a fable!” [2] Had this story really taken place with Adam and Hawwaa’ (Eve), then they would have either repented from this act of shirk or died without repenting. [a] If we believed that they died without repenting, that would be worse than what some of the hypocrites have said (in their poetry speaking ill of Adam)… Whoever could accept that any of the prophets died upon shirk has invented the most horrible of lies! [b] If we believed that they repented from the act of shirk, then it would not be in accordance with the Wisdom of Allaah and His Justice to mention their (great) error without mentioning their repentance from it. There is absolutely no way Allaah would mention such a sin from Adam and Hawwaa’ (Eve) while they had repented, without mentioning their repentance! When Allaah – the Most High – mentions a mistake of one of His Prophets or Messengers, He mentions their repentance, as found in the story of Adam himself when he and his wife ate from the tree and thereafter repented. [2] [3] The Prophets are protected (by Allaah) from committing shirk, as is agreed upon by the scholars. [4] It is authentically established in the hadeeth of Intercession that people will come to Adam requesting him to intercede (on the Day of Judgment), and he will ask to be excused because he ate from the tree, in disobedience. Had he actually fallen into shirk (as claimed in this story), it would be more appropriate and befitting to use that as the excuse instead. [5] This story mentions that the Shaytaan came to them and said, “I am your companion who got you kicked out of the garden,” while this is not the approach of someone who wants to lead people astray. Instead, he would say something to trick them into accepting his words. Saying, “I am your companion who got you kicked out of the garden,” would only lead them to surely recognize him as their clear enemy, and thus they would not accept any of his words at all. [6] According to this story, he (Shaytaan) said, “Surely, I will make him have two horns like a ram…” Logically, they would have either believed him [or not...] [a] [Had they believed] that this was possible for him, they would have committed shirk in Ruboobiyyah (Lordship), since no one is able to do that (fashion the shape of a child in the womb) other than Allaah. [b] Had they not believed him, they would never have considered his threat, knowing that he was not capable of doing that in the first place. [7] The Statement (of Allaah the Most High): فَتَعَالَى اللهُ عَمَّا يُشْرِكُونَ ( May Allaah be exonerated above the partners they ascribe! ) uses the plural pronoun (which refers to three or more). Had this been a reference to Adam and Hawwaa’ (Eve), it would have been phrased: ( يشركان ) yushrikaani (using the dual plural). These points show clearly that this story is absolute falsehood. It is not permissible to think of Adam and Hawwaa’ (Eve) as having fallen into shirk in any possible situation. The Prophets are to be exonerated above acts of shirk and considered free of them by scholarly consensus. So then the correct understanding of the Verse as we have already mentioned is that reference of the act of shirk is understood to be from the actions of some of the descendants of Adam who committed real acts of shirk, since some of them are polytheists, and others are monotheists (people of towheed). The Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Legal Verdicts, headed by Shaykh ‘Abdul-’Azeez ibn Baaz [d.1420] (may Allaah have Mercy on him), was asked about the step-father and maternal uncle of a young lady – Can they take the position of the walee (legal guardian or representative) in a valid marriage? They replied: The step-father is not a (valid) walee for his step-daughter, and nor is the maternal uncle (from her mother’s side). Instead, only the male inheriting blood relatives can be legal representatives (for marriage), the closest of them in relation having the priority – the father being first, then the grandfather, and then the son, and then her brother (from both parents), and then her half-brother (from her father’s side), etc. And through Allaah (alone) is succes. TCS currently has over 160 students in the full-time Islamic School and 150 students in the Sunday school. We are planning to start a new Qur`an Memorization Center bidhnillaahi Ta'ala and by the purchase of this building, we will be able to upgrade our school to a high school which will have separate sections for boys and girls Insha`Allaah. In addition, we are also planning to build a play area along with a full gymnasium which we are currently lacking. The Prophet (SallalahuAlayhiWaSallam) said: "If a man dies, then his good deeds stop except for three: a Sadaqah Jaariyah (continuous charity), a beneficial knowledge, or a righteous child who prays for him." (Narrated by Muslim) We hope and pray to Allaah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala to make this project a source of Sadaqah Jaariyah for everyone involved. Ameen.
The purchase cost for the prospective building is approximately $1.0 million (to be paid to seller within 4 month period of time). Shaikh Raashid ibn Uthmaan az-Zahraani said, “A student asked the Shaikh about giving precedence to the saying of a Companion or a student of a Companion over that of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم. So the Shaikh became angry at that statement and struck his head with his hand saying, ‘O so and so! You have to place the sunnah of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم on your head [i.e., give precedence to it]!’ Then after a while the Shaikh called that person and said, ‘You must free me from that [i.e., the fact that I became angry, i.e., don't hold it against me], for I did not say that except out of eagerness to establish the Sunnah of the Prophet صلى الله عليه وسلم.’” Mawaaqif Mudee’ah, p. 229.
The U.S. military taught its future leaders that a “total war” against the world’s 1.4 billion Muslims would be necessary to protect America from Islamic terrorists, according to documents obtained by Danger Room. Among the options considered for that conflict: using the lessons of “Hiroshima” to wipe out whole cities at once, targeting the “civilian population wherever necessary.”
The course, first reported by Danger Room last month and held at the Defense Department’s Joint Forces Staff College, has since been canceled by the Pentagon brass. It’s only now, however, that the details of the class have come to light. Danger Room received hundreds of pages of course material and reference documents from a source familiar with the contents of the class.
The chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff recently ordered the entire U.S. military to scour its training material to make sure it doesn’t contain similarly hateful material, a process that is still ongoing. But the officer who delivered the lectures, Army Lt. Col. Matthew A. Dooley, still maintains his position at the Norfolk, Virginia college, pending an investigation. The commanders, lieutenant colonels, captains and colonels who sat in Dooley’s classroom, listening to the inflammatory material week after week, have now moved into higher-level assignments throughout the U.S. military.
For the better part of the last decade, a small cabal of self-anointed counterterrorism experts has been working its way through the U.S. military, intelligence and law enforcement communities, trying to convince whoever it could that America’s real terrorist enemy wasn’t al-Qaida — but the Islamic faith itself. In his course, Dooley brought in these anti-Muslim demagogues as guest lecturers. And he took their argument to its final, ugly conclusion.
“We have now come to understand that there is no such thing as ‘moderate Islam,’” Dooley noted in a July 2011 presentation (.pdf), which concluded with a suggested manifesto to America’s enemies. “It is therefore time for the United States to make our true intentions clear. This barbaric ideology will no longer be tolerated. Islam must change or we will facilitate its self-destruction.”
Dooley could not be reached for comment. Joint Forces Staff College spokesman Steven Williams declined to discuss Dooley’s presentation or his status at the school. But when asked if Dooley was responsible for the course material, he responded, “I don’t know if I would classify him [Dooley] as responsible. That would be the commandant” of the school, Maj. Gen. Joseph Ward.
That makes the two-star general culpable for rather shocking material. In the same presentation, Dooley lays out a possible four-phase war plan to carry out a forced transformation of the Islam religion. Phase three includes possible outcomes like “Islam reduced to a cult status” and “Saudi Arabia threatened with starvation.” (It’s an especially ironic suggestion, in light of today’s news that Saudi intelligence broke up the most recent al-Qaida bombing plot.)
International laws protecting civilians in wartime are “no longer relevant,” Dooley continues. And that opens the possibility of applying “the historical precedents of Dresden, Tokyo, Hiroshima, Nagasaki” to Islam’s holiest cities, and bringing about “Mecca and Medina['s] destruction.”
Dooley’s ideological allies have repeatedly stated that “mainstream” Muslims are dangerous, because they’re “violent” by nature. Yet only a few of al-Qaida’s most twisted fanatics were ever caught musing about wiping out entire cities.
“Some of these actions offered for consideration here will not be seen as ‘political correct’ in the eyes of many,” Dooley adds. “Ultimately, we can do very little in the West to decide this matter, short of waging total war.”
Dooley, who has worked at the Joint Forces Staff College since August 2010, began his eight-week class with a straightforward, two-part history of Islam. It was delivered by David Fatua, a former West Point history professor. “Unfortunately, if we left it at that, you wouldn’t have the proper balance of points of view, nor would you have an accurate view of how Islam defines itself,” Dooley told his students. Over the next few weeks, he invited in a trio of guest lecturers famous for their incendiary views of Islam.
Shireen Burki declared during the 2008 election that “Obama is bin Laden’s dream candidate.” In her Joint Forces Staff College lecture, she told students that “Islam is an Imperialist/Conquering Religion.” (.pdf)
Stephen Coughlin claimed in his 2007 master’s thesis that then-president George W. Bush’s declaration of friendship with the vast majority of the world’s Muslims had “a chilling effect on those tasked to define the enemy’s doctrine.” (.pdf) Coughlin was subsequently let go from his consulting position to the military’s Joint Staff, but he continued to lecture at the Naval War College and at the FBI’s Washington Field Office. In his talk to Dooley’s class (.pdf), Coughlin suggested that al-Qaida helped drive the overthrow of Egyptian strongman Hosni Mubarak and Libyan dictator Muammar Gadhafi. It was part of a scheme by Islamists to conquer the world, he added. And Coughlin mocked those who didn’t see this plot as clearly as he did, accusing them of “complexification.”
Coughlin titled his talk: “Imposing Islamic Law – or – These Aren’t the Droids Your Looking For!”
Former FBI employee John Guandolo told the conspiratorial World Net Daily website last year that Obama was only the latest president to fall under the influence of Islamic extremists. “The level of penetration in the last three administrations is deep,” Guandolo alleged. In his reference material for the Joint Forces Staff College class, Guandolo not only spoke of today’s Muslims as enemies of the West. He even justified the Crusades, writing that they “were initiated after hundreds of years of Muslim incursion into Western lands.”
Guandolo’s paper, titled “Usual Responses from the Enemy When Presented With the Truth” (.pdf), was one of hundreds of presentations, documents, videos and web links electronically distributed to the Joint Forces Staff College students. Included in that trove: a paper alleging that “it is a permanent command in Islam for Muslims to hate and despise Jews and Christians” (.pdf). So was a video lecture from Serge Trifkovic, a former professor who appeared as a defense witness in several trials of Bosnian Serb leaders convicted of war crimes, including the genocide of Muslims. A web link, titled “Watch Before This Is Pulled,” supposedly shows President Obama — the commander-in-chief of the senior officers attending the course — admitting that he’s a Muslim.
Dooley added the caveats that his views are “not the Official Policy of the United States Government” and are intended “to generate dynamic discussion and thought.” But he taught his fellow military officers that Obama’s alleged admission could well make the commander in chief some sort of traitor. “By conservative estimates,” 10 percent of the world’s Muslims, “a staggering 140 million people … hate everything you stand for and will never coexist with you, unless you submit” to Islam. He added, “Your oath as a professional soldier forces you to pick a side here.” It is unclear if Dooley’s “total war” on Muslims also applied to his “Muslim” commander in chief.
After the Pentagon brass learned of Dooley’s presentation, the country’s top military officer, Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Gen. Martin Dempsey, issued an order to every military chief and senior commander to get rid of any similar anti-Islam instructional material. Dempsey issued the order because the White House had already instructed the entire security apparatus of the federal government — military and civilian — to revamp its counterterrorism training after learning of FBI material that demonized Islam.
By then, Dooley had already presented his apocalyptic vision for a global religious war. Flynn has ordered a senior officer, Army Maj. Gen. Frederick Rudesheim, to investigate how precisely Dooley managed to get away with that extended presentation in an official Defense Department-sanctioned course. The results of that review are due May 24.
Ironically, Dooley and his guest lecturers paint a dire picture of the forward march of Islamic extremism right as its foremost practitioner feared its implosion. Documents recently declassified by the U.S. government revealed Osama bin Laden fretting about al-Qaida’s brutal methods and damaged brand alienating the vast majority of Muslims from choosing to wage holy war. Little could he have known that U.S. military officers were thinking of ways to ignite one.

America's top military officer has condemned a course taught about Islam at one of America's top military schools as "totally objectionable".
It is not surprising. The story, first broken by Wired, is fairly astonishing, and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Martin Dempsey, must be furious.
The course taught officers there was no such thing as moderate Islam and that they should consider the religion their enemy.
It advocated "total war" against all the world's Muslims, including possible nuclear attacks on the holy cities of Mecca and Medina and the wiping out civilian populations.
The Pentagon has confirmed the course material found on their website is authentic.
'Something weird' As far as I can see this is not intended in any sense as a rather sick academic exercise in stretching the bounds of what could be thought. It is actually what the officer teaching it believes.
In other words: completely nutty stuff that would disgrace the wilder fringes of the blogosphere.
So, not surprisingly, Gen Dempsey has ordered a full investigation into what other US military schools might be teaching about the religion.
The voluntary course aimed at senior officers was taught at the Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia, for a year.
Gen Dempsey described the course as "counter to our values of appreciation for religious freedom and cultural awareness" and "just objectionable, academically irresponsible".
It came to light when one of the officers on the course complained last month. There is now an investigation into how the course was approved and why it was part of the curriculum.
A lieutenant colonel has been suspended from teaching, but for the moment keeps his job. The Pentagon hopes a full report will be out by the end of the month.
What does seem rather surprising is that all those commanders, captains and colonels must have sat through the course and not felt the need to tell someone that something rather weird was going on.

As-Salaamu ‘Alaykum, Bismillah, All praise is due to Allah, and may exaltation and safety be granted to Muhammad, his family, his companions and those who aid them. To proceed: Al-‘Allaamah, Saalih al-Fawzaan, may Allah preserve him, said: …The wisdoms behind the legislation of the waiting period (al-‘Iddah) (1) can be summed up in the following points: [1]: Ensuring that the woman’s womb is clear from pregnancy, so that another man does not [marry her and] have intercourse with her before knowing whether she is pregnant or not, and as a result, lineage becomes uncertain and lost; [2]: Magnifying [the worth] of a marriage contract; [3]: Prolonging the chance [for the husband] to reconsider staying with his wife; [4]: [If the woman’s husband has passed way], the waiting period gives the deceased his rights. And by preventing the woman from beautifying herself (2), [in the case of her husband's death], it displays the significance of his loss… (3) (1) [TN]: Al-’Iddah: An Islamically defined waiting period for a woman after divorce or the death of her husband. بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم He talks a lot, gives a lot of fatawa, speaks about the religion without knowledge and spreads misinformation about Islam. Who is he? He is Muhammad al-Arifi. Often when you talk to individuals they make excuses for him, stating that he must be a Scholar of Sunnah as he appears on the television and on the Saudi Channels. The following to videos were originally posted on youtube: 1. The Evil Results of a Scholar of Innovation – Listen carefully to what our Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abdul-Wahaab al-Aqeel حفظه الله تعالى says about the current spate of TV Shaykhs and there spreading of Evil. Their encouraging of taking knowledge from the people of misguidance and the outcome of such evil. This will laydown some very important principles to help you identify such people. Shaykh Muhammad (ibn Abdul-Wahaab) al-Aqeel says: “Point Number Six: Knowing the scholars of Sunnah and to follow them and Knowing the scholars of innovation and to warn against them. This is a fundamental principle from the Six Fundamentals which Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abdul-Wahaab mentioned in his book: “The Six Fundamental Principles”. We have now embarked upon this problem. We perceive every individual who wears a cloak (as the Scholars of Saudi Arabia do) to be a “Shaykh”. Every individual who puts on a cloak, we think he is a scholar. (We think) anyone who records a tape (of himself) and distributes it amongst the people is a “Shaykh” and anyone who receives permission to deliver a lecture is a “Shaykh” and anyone who appears on a satellite channel is a “Shaykh” and anyone who writes a book is a “Shaykh”. No, my beloved ones! No! Never! Never! This is “Red Death” (clear danger) and this is a test, Allaah the All-Mighty says: “And thus do We explain the Ayaat (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, signs, revelations, etc.) in detail, that the way of the Mujrimoon (criminals, polytheists, sinners), may become manifest.”… A complete transcript of Shaykh Muhammad al-Aqeel’s words will be posted separately in the following email, for ease of reference. 2. The second video titled: Some of The Salafi Ulema On Muhammad Al Arifi And His Calamities Revealed – Highlights some of the statements of Shaykh Saleh ibn Fawzaan al-Fawzaan حفظه الله تعالى, Shaykh Muhammad ibn Haadee al-Madkhalee حفظه الله تعالى and Shaykh Ahmad ibn Yahyaa an-Najmi رحمه الله رحمة واسعة on Muhammad al-Arifi and someone of his deviant statements. Shaykh al-Fawzaan knows who he is, and speak against his statements, Shaykh Muhammad ibn Haadee is very clear and precise in his criticism (and it is detailed as usual). Just as a side point: Shaykh Sulaymaan ar-Ruhaylee حفظه الله تعالى was unable to attend the Muhammad ibn Ibraheem Dawrah that is currently taking place in Jeddah organised by www.ar.miraath.net last Wednesday but instead a our brother Fuad ibn Saud al-Amree حفظه الله تعالى delivered his scheduled lecture, which was highly beneficial. Upon the conclusion of his lecture the attendees were informed (and to our surprise) that Shaykh Muhammad ibn Haadee al-Madkhalee حفظه الله تعالى was present and would be giving some words of advice. These words of advice lasted in excess of 40 minutes and were recorded. My intention is to get it posted out within the coming week on www.wefilmhd.posterous.com The audio was in Arabic and has been given to several brothers with the intention of translating it in to English and making it available on the internet very soon. May Allah make it easy for one of the brothers to translate the words of our beloved Shaykh Muhammad in full, ameen!) Back to the issue at hand: It is unfortunate that many of us do not look at the value of the statement of the scholars but we look at the level of the one who is making the statement (ie. If we feel the scholars is not big enough, this is sufficient a reason for us to reject the statement. We (through our ignorance of the principles of of the religion of al-Islam) do not understand that if an individual is criticised with clear evidence and refuted in an issue by a scholar of Sunnah, this is sufficient and does not require someone bigger scholar to come along to make a statement for us to accept the evidence given or the refutation made. It is about time we abandoned this individual and other personalities that we seem to be aligned to and there are plenty of them. Listen very carefully to what our Mashaykh advise specifically with regards to this individual, Muhammad al-Arifi and his continued misguidance of the people.
